Planet liga is a league of 20 teams playing in a head-to-head format, earning three points for a win and one point for a draw. The team with the most points at the end of the regular season is proclaimed champion. There is also a playoff series. Players must participate in 50% of the league games to be eligible for the playoffs, except in the case of a medical condition (provided a doctor’s note is included).

The planet liga orbits Oerth at a distance of 100 million miles, taking 364 days (one Oerth year) to complete its journey. It has a Planet liga single satellite, a planetoid called Moth. Myths from across Oerth tell of a twin sun that once graced the skies, an exact replica of Liga, but it vanished without a trace. Its orbital path eventually slammed into the next planet in line, creating an asteroid field known as the Grinder.

On Liga itself are portals to the Elemental Plane of Fire, as well as a great flying vessal of brass and sheets of flame. Its heat is deadly to organic life within 37,000 miles, but beyond this distance it provides a steady supply of heat.

All players participating in the game must remain on their assigned player benches during play. Players who do not comply with this requirement may be assessed a penalty by the Referee. Any serious offending actions, such as Gross/Abuse of Official, can result in a minimum of two game suspension. The league coordinator will handle all suspensions and will provide more information regarding this via the league stats.

The sun of Oerth, Liga, is often considered to be Pelor itself, or perhaps the soul of Pelor. Devotees of Rao believe it is the light of their god’s radiance. The Touv associate it with their goddess Nola. Many races have myths of a second sun that once graced the skies, a twin to Liga called “Anti-Liga.” Anti-Liga disappeared mysteriously many thousands of years ago.

Liga’s core consists of molten metals, and it is surrounded by a superhot photosphere that provides warmth to the planet beyond the point at which it could immolate organic life. The outer regions of Liga are populated by denizens from the Elemental Plane of Fire, including salamanders and fire elementals. A great flying vessal with brass sails is inhabited by several dozen efreet, and the lakes are filled with water elementals and water weirds. There is a portal to the Elemental Plane of Fire on Liga’s surface, and a large gate within the core. Liga orbits Oerth at 100 million miles and takes 364 days, or one Oerth year, to complete a trip around the solar system. It has one satellite, a planetoid known as the Moth. It is situated between Luna and the asteroid field known as the Grinder.
